What you type here is checked and then discarded — the password is never stored, never logged, and is not included in the message the operator receives. They are told only whether it matched.

WHY A PERSON, NOT A LINK

An automatic reset link only proves someone can read an inbox. This deployment has no prior verified contact channel for an account, so a link would hand accounts to anyone who can guess an address. A human check is slower, and it is the honest option at this size.
